Are naturopathic consultations covered by insurance

Most extended health benefit plans do cover naturopathic services* (both virtual and in person). The amount and the percentage per visit varies among providers and I suggest contacting them directly with any questions about your plan.

*Dr. Natalia Ytsma, ND is licensed in the province of British Columbia and can only provide covered naturopathic services to residents of BC. Out of province/country services would be informative consultation only.

What can I expect on the first visit?

Initial consultations are roughly 60 minutes in length and are done in person or virtually through a secured network. All records are electronic and in accordance with all privacy protection acts. In the time we have together, I get a chance to ask questions and get to know you, listen to your story, and learn about your goals.

Some of the treatment plans may include diet and lifestyle advice, prescriptions, supplement recommendations, lab requisitions, counselling, and more.

Do you only see women and kids?

No! Although most of my patients tend to be women and children, but advocating for family care I open my door and services to all ages, genders, and demographics. I want this to be a safe space for anyone wanting guidance and answers in their health.

Do you offer direct billing?

I offer direct billing through Telus eClaims which covers many extended benefit plans like Manulife, Desjardins, Chambers, Sunlife and more. There may be some plans which I am unable to bill directly but a detailed receipt will be provided every time for self submission if needed.
